Biography

Joshua Robles-Crespo is a current University of Central Florida student pursuing a degree in Music Education. After graduating from high school, he then went to college to increase his knowledge, and during his time there, he chose to go into the music education field. During his time in college, he joined various organizations such as Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and Kappa Kappa Psi National Honorary Band Fraternity, as well as being actively involved in the National Associate for Music Education Collegiate University and State Chapter.

Joshua has been practicing music since 2010, starting on trumpet but later expanding to percussion and saxophone. His love of music education continued with the great teachers he had in high school, who helped push him to pursue music education. While at UCF, he was involved in athletic bands, concert bands, jazz bands, and trumpet ensembles. During his undergraduate studies, he was under the tutelage of Dr. Jesse Cook.

Joshua has been greatly impacted by his music teachers when growing up, and in wanting to continue that impact, he wants to become one himself. He hopes that as a music educator, he can not only create a culture within the school where students feel comfortable and invite their friends to join but also that students will be able to succeed in both group and solo performances, no matter the genre. And that expectation for learning always grows; music allows for beautiful growth, which should never be stagnant. His end goal is that all students who enter his classroom can grow not only into great musicians but also great people.

Outside of school, Josh enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing a variety of tabletop games, rock climbing, cooking, and sharing his knowledge of various hobbies he has picked up over the years.
